Job Description:

Position Overview

We are actively seeking an experienced and highly skilled Application and Systems Support Engineer. This person is responsible for supporting and maintaining the HealthMine application and its infrastructure environment and will report to the IT Operations Manager. You’ll work alongside other support engineers, database engineers, and cloud systems engineers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s client web user interface, FTP/EDI process, ETL, data correction, and server infrastructure supporting multi-locations in the country.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the application stacks and the business and technical workflow. Be able to competently triage, analyze, and troubleshoot defects and gaps in the applications.
  • Provide escalation point for customer service organization regarding web portal user interface, application function, and member scorecards.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of client reporting requirements, schedule and deliverables. Be able to back up the primary reporting person.
  • Maintain high availability and stability of the application stacks and their associated infrastructure.
  • Proactively identify defects, weaknesses and issues, develop resolutions using appropriate and effective means and methods.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

  • High level of technical skills in the following: SQL, XML, FTP, EDI, Microsoft SharePoint,. Knowledge of Java application stacks would be an advantage.
  • Solid experience with Windows 2008 Server, JBoss, IIS, MS SQL Database Server, MySQL, Oracle Database.
  • Previous experience and competence in supporting multi-tiered web SaaS applications.
  • Knowledge of health industry would be a plus.
  • Previous experience working with customers, both internal and external.
  • Proven capacity to collaborate with the development team, DBAs, and client relationship managers to resolve complex issues and recommend process improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and process driven work ethics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross geography / cross functional environment.
